2010 Lincoln MKS
Direct injection and turbo technology it what drives the new 2010 Lincoln MKS. The smaller 3.5L EcoBoost engine delivers a more than respectable power; in fact it produces 355 hp and an equally impressive 350 lb of torque. Now intelligent (EcoBoost) V6 engines can out perform the traditional gas guzzling V8. Do not be mistaken when we talk about performance, the Lincoln MKS EcoBoost engine is equipped with 2 turbochargers which will provide exciting performance when needed. Fuel savings on EcoBoost engines can be 30% and higher under normal driving conditions (17 mpg city/25 hwy). The best part of the EcoBoost technology, when you need the performance just put you foot down.
Controlling all this power is the new intelligent All-Wheel-Drive (AWD) system. This advanced system will continuously monitor the driver and vehicle behavior and when necessary, transfer torque to wheels with the best traction, making driving the new Lincoln so much safer no matter what the driving conditions.
If you compare the Lincoln MKS EcoBoost V6 engine with the traditional Lincoln Town Car which is fitted with an old lazy 4.6L 16 value V8 which only delivers 239hp and 387 lb of torque. The Lincoln MKS with EcoBoost represents a modern day engine compared with what can only be described as an old mans car. The old V8 with 16 values, which is only 2 values per cylinder, that is early 1980’s technology.
Now at least the new Lincoln MKS with EcoBoost, you get more performance with a smaller engine provided by the turbochargers while consuming less fuel.
