Honda FCX Clarity

The Honda FCX Clarity is the car of the future today. The FCX Clarity is the most advanced electric fuel cell propelled vehicle on the market with zero CO2 emissions. The only byproduct of this system is water. The FCX Clarity is driven by an electric motor that draws continuous power from a bank batteries that are charged off hydrogen fuel cells. The fuel cells combine hydrogen with oxygen to create efficient non-wasteful clean electricity, which charge the batteries that power the electric motor that propels the car. The current electric motor develops 134hp and 189lb of torque. So there are no questions about performance. What’s more, since the FCX Clarity is powered by an electric motor, the 189lb of torque is available at low revs.

The Honda FCX Clarity has an estimated miles-per-kilogram rating of:
City/Highway/Combined = 60/60/60

Now that is impressive. Currently the only downside we need to note is the driving range on a full tank of hydrogen. According to Honda, the FCX Clarity is capable of traveling up to 240 miles before you need to refuel. That is not a lot of mileage at all. Hopefully this will increase in future models.

The Honda FCX Clarity has been designed not only to be fuel efficient, not only to be clean to the environment, but also to be fun to drive. The FCX Clarity delivers this fun factor via state of the art chassis and suspension technology powered by a nippy 134hp electric motor.
