Buick Regal GS

2011, Buick is set to launch the all “new” Buick Regal GS. According to Buick.com, the Regal GS is be fitted with an impressive 2.0L EcoTec direct injection, turbocharged engine that should deliver 255hp and is reported to do 0-60mph in less than six seconds. The Regal GS will also be fitted with an adaptive All-Wheel-Drive system and a limited slip differential. A choice of models and engine sizes has yet to be announced.

The all “new” Buick Regal GS might be new to the Buick family but it is really not that new to the General Motors Corporation. The Buick Regal is really just a European Opel Insignia with a different badge. Make no mistake this is an extremely impressive car for its price range and won the car-of-the-year award in 2009.

The European version, called the Opel Insignia OPC is powered by a 2.8L V6 Turbocharged engine that delivers 325hp and with a 0-60mph in less than six seconds. So performance wise according to Buick, the smaller 2.0L engine is on par with the European 2.8L. Three different body styles are available in Europe. A 4-door sedan, 5-door hatch and a wagon. We are still waiting to see what body styles will be available from Buick on the official launch.
